“Dear Friends:
We have sent denouncements to the United Nations Organisation, the European Union and to the Vatican. And by means of this letter the Sociedad protectora de animales y plantas de Cádiz “Refugio Kimba” is also filing a public denouncement against the Government of the kingdom of Spain, against the government of the autonomy of Castilla y León and against city council of Tordesilla (Valladolid), on the grounds of the following acts and foundations by right:
Hemos enviado denuncias a la ONU, Unión Europea y al Vaticano. Y mediante el presente escrito La Sociedad protectora de animales y plantas de Cádiz “Refugio Kimba” también presenta denuncia publica contra el Gobierno del reino de España, contra el gobierno de la junta de Castilla y León y contra el ayuntamiento de Tordesillas (Valladolid) , en base a los siguientes hechos y fundamentos de derecho:
First- That every year in the month of September there takes place, to the shame of the human race, one of the biggest brutalities in the kingdom of Spain, known as “El Toro de la Vega”, in Tordesillas (Valladolid) Spain. The festival consists of releasing a bull who is then chased by dozens of “people” through the countryside as they throw spears and piercing objects, until the bull, with blood pouring from him, his flesh pierced by the spears, collapses without strength. At that moment they finish him off by cutting off his tail and his testicles. Finally, while often still alive and in total agony, is put on exhibition like a trophy for the town. This brutality was declared to be of interest to tourists, and to the shame of the cathoic church it is done in honor of the Virgen de la Peña (Virgin Mary).
Primero- Que todos los años en los meses de Septiembre tiene lugar para vergüenza de la raza humana, una de las mayores bestialidades del reino de España, llamado ” El Toro de la Vega”, en Tordesillas (Valladolid) España. El festejo consiste en soltar un toro, el cual es acosado por decenas de “personas” por el campo que le arrojan lanzas y objetos punzantes, hasta que el toro, chorreando sangre, acribillado y con la carne hecha piltrafas por los lanzazos, se derrumba sin fuerza, momento en que se supone le dan la puntilla y le cortan el rabo y los testículos. Esto último, a menudo, mientras aún vive, en plena agonía, y son exhibidos como trofeo por el pueblo. Esta crueldad fue declarada de interés turístico y para vergüenza de la iglesia católica se hace en honor de la Virgen de la Peña
Second- That these barbaric acts againts a defenseless animal is a violation of the laws for the protection of animals in Spain, in Europe, and in any civilised country. They also violate the animal rights endorsed by the United Nations’ Declaración Universal de los derechos del animal (Universal declaration of animal rights) passed by the United Nations Organisation for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), and subsequently by the United Nations Organisation (UNO).
Segundo- Que éstos bárbaros actos contra un animal indefenso incumple las leyes de protección animal de España, de Europa, de cualquier país civilizado, e incumple los derechos de los animales refrendados por Naciones Unidas ” Declaración Universal de los derechos del animal aprobada por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO), y posteriormente por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU).
Third- That year after year in the town of Tordesilla one animal after another is slaughtered in the same manner and the Spanish authorities, both autonomous and local, do nothing to put an end to that denigrating festival. And that representatives of the Catholic church in Spain participate in this unnecessary and indecent brutality, since this bloody act in performed in honor of a Virgin “La Virgen de la Peña”.
Tercero – Que año tras año en el pueblo de Tordesillas se sigue asesinando a un animal tras otro de la misma forma y las autoridades españolas, autonómicas y locales no hacen nada para poner fin a ese denigrante festejo, siendo los representantes de la Iglesia católica en España participes de ésta crueldad innecesaria e indecente, ya que éste sangriento acto se realiza en honor de una Virgen “La Virgen de la Peña”.
Forth- That the Spanish authorities take no action to eradicate this bloody and inhumane festival against a poor animal, whose single purpose is to entertain a blood thirsty crowd and because animal torture is so deep rooted in Spain (the national Spanish festival is torturing an animal to death in a bull ring, and giving the name culture to this bloodbath).
Cuarto- que al no tomar acción las autoridades españolas para erradicar y parar éste festejo inhumano y sangriento en contra de un pobre animal, con el simple propósito de divertir a una muchedumbre sedienta de sangre y por estar tan arraigada la tortura animal en España (la fiesta nacional española es torturar y dar muerte a un animal en una plaza, dándole el nombre de cultura a éste baño de sangre ).
With all of this we consider it to be impossible that as humble and totally altruistic animal defenders, our denouncements be taken seriously or that any attention be paid to us when the abuse is happening to a bull . Therefore no urgent measures are taken, the coming month of September another bull will be slaughtered in that town in the same manner as were the previous ones.
Con todo esto consideramos que es imposible que a humildes protectoras de animales y totalmente altruistas, nos tomen en serio nuestras denuncias y no nos hagan ningún caso cuando el maltrato se le realiza a un toro. Por lo tanto si no se toman medidas urgentes, el próximo mes de septiembre asesinaran a otro toro en esa localidad de la misma forma que los anteriores.
